Belmont Park is located in Elmont, New York and covers an extensive 430-acre site.
Belmont Park is most famous for hosting the prestigious Belmont Stakes, the third stage of American most well know horse racing event the Triple Crown, held five weeks after the Kentucky Derby. It is the longest, oldest and said to be the most arduous of the three races at 1½ mile; the other two races are the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes.
