Fair Grounds Race Course is often known as New Orleans Fair Grounds, is a thoroughbred race track located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The track was initially opened in 1852 as the “Union Race Course”.
Fair Grounds is the oldest site of racing in America still in operation and
has endured the adversities of changing ownerships, wars, floods, fires, epidemics, hurricanes, economic hardships, racing prohibitions, politics and all forms of gaming competition.
